A trip to Grandad's house!

On Labor Day we visited my husbands father, who lives over 2 hours away from us out in Gods country!  It really is no-man's land.  Nothing but farms and cornfields.  Sometimes I think it would be nice to live in no-man's land.
I'm not sure if the kids were more excited to see Gran-dad or Gran-dad's horses!
Kaitlyn wanted soo badly to ride one, but it had been raining and the horses had rolled in the mud.

Luckily we had enough of a break in the rain to go for a walk,
which turned into a mountain climb hike.
Kaitlyn picked wild flowers.
and Nathan looked for critter's.
We hiked up to the clouds.
Where Kaitlyn discovered that if she screams....the hills scream back!
We came back from our hike with very wet feet, and enjoyed a very nice meal with Norm's Dad and his wife and hit the road again!

We made a stop at the Bass Pro Shop.
It was a bit wet, but enjoyable day.  How did you and your family spend Labor Day?

Speaking of wet days, are you close to the flooding at all? I've been thinking of you with all the craziness going on in your corner of the world.

Your FIL's place is amazing!!! You are so lucky to be able to just drive to see this and walk in such beautiful surroundings! Your children must have so much fun! :) Thanks for sharing, Kelly. Hope you are all well.
