We took a 2-hr trip to visit with Norms Dad and wife in September. They have horses, which is the big attraction for the kids. Kaitlyn was soo looking forward to riding a horse. Unfortunately the horse was feeling a bit temperamental that day and bucked her off. It was scary!! Thank goodness she was not hurt! She even got back on cautiously, but only for a minute, while Grandad held onto her. Other than that little incident we had a nice visit!
Soccer season is about to wrap up for Kaitlyn. She had a challenging season because she was bumped up to a age group with older, more experienced (and giant) girls. She had a great coach and improved and enjoyed herself more and more each week. They finished the season with 6 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss. Not too shabby! There is a tournament next weekend that she chose to participate in, and then we're done!
Nathan was chosen to have his artwork displayed in an art show! He was soo proud! We are too. . .he really is a great little artist!
We had some beautiful weekends to enjoy all the fall festivities around. The kids look forward to pumpkin picking, hay rides and corn mazes every year. Their cousins got to join them one day too!
We also visited one of our favorite fall photo spots to see the "mountain of mums."
Our Powder room got a makeover!
It's really hard to get a good picture in that tiny room, but trust me. . . .It's soo much nicer. We got a new vanity/sink, moved the lighting from the ceiling to above the mirror on the wall, and got a new fixture, new fan, new tile flooring (Norm tiled for the first time!), new paint color, towels and accessories. Love it! Love peeing in there! (ok, TMI) Now I can't wait till we can do our upstairs bathroom!
We made it through hurricane Sandy with no problems. Soo sad to see the devastation in New York and New Jersey. The kids are hoping that "our beach" (Ocean City, NJ) is all better by next summer!
The weather had cleared just in time for Halloween. The kids did not have a parade at school this year. Apparently our school district is not doing Halloween anymore, but did allow a fall party. Whatever! As usual the kids enjoyed dressing up and trick-or-treating with their neighborhood friends!
Kaitlyn was a pirate-ess and Nathan was a dead Phillies player. (he decided at the last minute, that he needed to be scary!)
This weekend Nathan gets to play "only child" while his sister is spending the weekend in Delaware with her good friend that moved away. Her Mom came up and got some friends to spend the weekend with her for her birthday. I had some anxiety about letting her go. Just don't like it when my kids are away. . . . .but she was super excited, and I have seen some facebook photos already of her and the other girls having a great time and being well taken care of! But I'm sure she is going to be one tired little girl when she gets home after a 2-night sleepover! It's nice having this one-on-one time with my boy. It is a rare occasion!
Well I think that about gets me caught up on the last couple of months! Hopefully I will post again before soo much time passes! Hope you are all well . . .and while I have taken a break from posting, I have been keeping up with all of you!
