Fourth of July festivities

The Fourth of July fell on a Sunday this year, which meant celebrating all weekend long!  Besides all the work we, mostly Norm, has been doing on our deck, we managed to fit in some fun! Saturday night our neighbors, the Martz's, hosted their annual 4th of July get-together.  It was a smaller crowd this year so we got together with the 2 other families for a cookout, rather then just the usual dessert buffet, or I should say, in addition to the dessert buffet.....we had plenty of that too!
After dinner we enjoyed some smores!
Then we watched a cool erupting soda experiment by the little mad scientist next door!
We had some more goodies to eat, then when the sun went down, we watched the big boys who like to play with fire put on a little fireworks show for us.
We have awesome neighbors!  Always a good time with them!

Sunday was low key, church then swimming  at Mom-Mom and Pop's house, and steak on the grill. More work on the deck for Norm.  (more on that on a later post)

Today  Norm and I snuck away to see the movie Eclipse, while the kids were at my Mom's.  Then we joined them and the rest of my family there for a picnic.
Afterwards, we all had a merciless friendly water gun fight.
Even Mom got into the action and had fun. So good to see!  We were all totally soaked!
Then we watched Norm do some more pyrotechnics........I think we'll leave that to my neighbors from now on.
One called chopper something-or-other, went off and flew right at us, then did a boomerang move and came back again. Yikes!...no harm done though.
Then another went straight into the trees in the woods.  I have video of that one...the audio is pretty funny.

So that pretty much wraps up our Independence day weekend! Sorry for all the pictures.  Lots of fun memories to capture! Hope you all had a great weekend too!
