Summer fun-cont.
I haven't blogged in a while, so I wanted to post some pictures of our activities over the last couple of weeks, starting with our trip to the zoo the evening of Saturday Aug 9. We have a young friend, actually, he's a relative of my father-in law's. His name is Ronnie and he has leukemia. Anyway, his Mom gave us tickets to the zoo for an after hours event for leukemia, along with my in-laws. The zoo is one of the kids favorite places to visit, especially Nathan. He was our tour guide for the night. It was soo nice being there without the crowds.
Please keep Ronnie in your prayers. He's 13 and has been in the hospital since March and it doesn't look like he will be out any time soon. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ronaldphillips The next main event was a Birthday party for our neighbor Brianna, who lost her mother in June. She turned 5 this past Monday and we (her neighbors) decided to throw her a little party. I picked her up early for day care. She didn't know about the party. The kids got their swimsuits on and went over to our neighbor Karen's house. Brianna was surprised to find balloons and streamers decorating her deck. It was soo nice to see her happy and smiling. The kids had a great time. It was bittersweet for all of us, thinking of how this is the first Birthday without her Mom. Considering all things her and her father are doing very well.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIANNA!
Kaitlyn and Brianna get along great and have gotten pretty close in the last couple of months. We have her and her daddy over for dinner often since he's still not used to cooking. Brianna and Kaitlyn just giggle all through dinner, but like I said before, I'm just glad to see that she's happy. And as summer comes to an end, we had our last "Wednesday Fun Day" this week. We had intended on going to this big, awesome playground, but when we got there, there were busloads of summer camp kids. We were overwhelmed and it was hard to keep track of our kids. My cousin, and BFF, Sherry, joined us and she suggested we go to a smaller park near her house. That is what we did, which was great. The kids had the park to themselves! Tyler and Brianna (Sherry's kids) do not have a neighborhood filled with kids like ours so it was nice for them to join the "club" for the day.

My God-daughter, Brianna School starts soon, but the Summer fun is not quite over! Tomorrow morning we leave for the beach and come home Tuesday. Now, the beach is the number 1 favorite place the kids like to visit! My blog will be bursting with beach pictures when I come back!
